RI-made iPad game penetrates US market

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Sat, 07/16/2011 4:49 PM

The free iPad game titled Hachiko HD Lite recently moved into seventh position among the most popular free applications among users in the United States.
The game was produced by Touchten, an Indonesian developer founded by Anton Soeharyo, Dede Indrapurna and Rokimas P Soeharyo.
Touchten CEO Anton Soeharyo said that the game had a “taste” of Japan because its designer once studied there.
“The game was inspired by the legend of a loyal dog in Japan,” Anton said, as quoted by lintasberita.com.
Touchten had previously released a game titled Sushi Chain, which was downloaded by more than 2 million iPhone users across the globe.
Anton promised that his company would continue developing games in iOS in the hopes that some day Indonesian developers might manage to produce products that could equal the popularity of top games such as Angry Birds.
Those who want to test Hachiko can download HachikoHD Lite apps for free at Apple’s iTunes AppStore and HachikoHD for a fee.
